Segmenting to better target your customers
Introduction
Customer segmentation in Store Commander is an essential strategic lever for all e-merchants wishing to refine their customer management and boost their commercial performance. With this tool, you can create targeted customer groups based on various criteria, enabling you to highly personalise your marketing campaigns, commercial actions, and analyses.
Store Commander allows you to create automatic or manual segments based on filters such as registration date, number of orders placed, and much more. For example, you can easily find your best buyers or new registrants from the last 30 days. This granularity allows you to better understand your audiences and offer them targeted, relevant, and effective actions.
In summary, Store Commander's customer segmentation is much more than just a filter: it is a powerful tool for managing your customer strategy. It helps you get to know your buyers better, anticipate their behaviour, and offer them more personalized experiences while saving you valuable time in your day-to-day management, which is great!
The Segmentation tool is included in Solo PLUS and MultiStore PLUS plans
📊 Your customers' purchase statistics
Let’s see some example of statistics via segments.
Customers who ordered during the sales period
In this example, we will quickly obtain the list of customers who placed orders during the sales period (specific dates).
You will see the full power of the segmentation tool as we will group different segments together.
First, we are creating an automatic segment for orders between specific dates, linked to the order interface

Once the segment created, we assign it the type ‘Orders between 2 dates with time’ and indicate the sales period dates

This is it for this segment.
All orders placed during that specific period are visible in that segment.

Next step, we need to get the list of the corresponding customers.
We create a new automatic segment in the Customer interface, using the type ‘Customers with orders in segment… the segment created in step 1’

And you’re done. This last segment will include the list of all customers who placed an order during the sales period.
If you then want to extract that list to use the emails to contact these customers, simply use the quick export option (copy/paste onto a spreadsheet), of a custom view (here using id and email only):

You can of course adapt the dates, or even create new segments for other dates, to get the list of the corresponding customers.
🎯Marketing actions
The content of any segment can be exported to a spreadsheet - using the quick export option - which means that you can use your emailing tools (Sendinblue, Mailchimp, Klaviyo, etc.) for your targeted marketing campaigns.

👉 Perfect for sending targeted newsletters, abandoned cart reminders, special offers to your best customers, and much more...
Let’s take this example:
You’ll be receiving new products from the manufacturer ABC in the next couple of weeks, and you want to inform customers who already purchased this brand’s products.
To obtain the list of those customers, simply create a segment “Customers who ordered product of manufacturer…”, and once the list displayed in Sc Customer interface, export it to use the emails to then send your special offers.
🚀 The limit is your imagination
We have just seen a few examples of how customer segmentation can be used, but this is only a tiny fraction of its potential!
It is undoubtedly a real powerful tool integrated in your Store Commander, particularly with the ability to group segments together across different interfaces!
You will find the available segment types in the drop-down menu, adapted to the selected interface (Catalog, Orders or Customers), allowing you to work with your product, order and customer data with complete flexibility:
