Introduction to SEO with Sc

PrestaShop offers various SEO fields for products, images, categories and manufacturers, and they are all available in Store Commander, its interface and its csv export and import tools.

SEO Products

The SEO fields products are:

• link_rewrite

• meta title

• meta description

• meta keyword

They are visible and editable in the central column of your Sc interface called SEO, but also in the property of the same name, in the right-hand column of Sc.

The advantage of the SEO property is that you can view the SEO fields of a selected product in all the languages of your shop, and also in all the shops when you are in multi-shop mode.

SEO Images

SEO also concerns the images of your products, particularly their legends, which are considered to be ALT (alternative text) tags. It is therefore important to include legends on your images.

You'll find the legends in the Images property of your Sc interface - double-click to edit, or use the toolbar option to assign the product name to the bulk caption.

SEO Categories

The shop's categories also use a meta title and a meta description, which you'll find in the interface dedicated to categories, accessible in the Catalog > Categories menu.

Here too, you can manage the SEO of your categories in all languages and all shops.

SEO Manufacturers

If you display the Brands page on your site, it will be important to fill in the meta title and meta description for your manufacturers.

You'll find this information in the interface dedicated to manufacturers in your Store Commander interface, Catalog > Manufacturers menu.

You'll find a central SEO view as well as an SEO property, which comes in very handy if you use several languages and/or if your backoffice is in multi-boutique mode.
